Q. We live out of area, can my child still apply?

A. Of course! As long as you live within the Los Angeles Unified School District you are eligible to apply.

 

Q. Can my child apply for the 7th or 8th grade The Science Academy STEM Magnet, not just 6th?

A. We accept applications for every grade, but our available spaces are limited in the higher grade levels.

 

Q. Where can I get an application?

A. Applications are available online at http://echoices.lausd.net/ on the LAUSD website.

 

Q. Does my child have to be a Magnet student in order to apply?

A. No. Any student can apply for The Science Academy STEM Magnet.

 

Q. Do I need to sign up to take the mandatory assessment?

A. No, once you have applied on echoices, you simply need to come to The Science Academy on the date and time of the test.
